Soil Nutrient Kit Instructions
Sample Collection
Proper sample collection is very important in obtaining a representative analysis of the soil you are having tested. We recommend you collect samples in dry weather and prior to fertilizing. The samples you send for analysis should include a mixture of soil taken from different areas of a garden, or flowerbed, or lawn etc… and free of rocks, grasses, and mulch. You should not combine those from the garden with those of the lawn but send two separate samples in for testing.
Naming Your Sample
It is important that you be able to identify each sample by a unique name. The name can represent the area of collection or a project. Some examples are: NFB for north flowerbed or GS1 for garden sample #1 and GS2 for garden sample#2 and so on. This is especially important when sending multiple samples for analysis.
Filling Out Forms
We need certain information from you to properly and promptly process your samples. All forms and labels are included in our kit for you to record this information. In general, we need your name, contact information, your preferred method of receiving results, sample with your name and sample ID attached, and test to be performed for each sample.
